Hungarian Opposition Leader Vows to Deny Severance Pay to Former Ministers
Hungarian opposition leader Péter Magyar announced that former government ministers will not receive severance payments if his party comes to power, stating that those who "destroyed our country" should not be entitled to such compensation. Magyar described Hungary as being in poor condition and said his movement would inherit a country in bad shape. The comments come as negotiations continue between Hungary and the European Commission regarding the unblocking of EU funds, with a high-level delegation scheduled to visit Budapest next week to discuss the matter.
