Russia Launches Third Oreshnik Strike on Ukraine as Kyiv Recovers from Massive Overnight Attack
Russia launched its third attack using the Oreshnik missile system against Ukraine, according to Ukrainian officials. The strike came as Ukraine was recovering from a massive overnight assault that involved up to 90 missiles of various types and 600 drones, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. The Oreshnik is an intermediate-range ballistic missile that Russia has previously used in strikes against Ukrainian targets, representing an escalation in the types of weapons deployed in the ongoing conflict that began with Russia's invasion in February 2022.
