Košice Approves New Urban Development Plan Allowing Tall Buildings Near River and Historic Areas

Košice, Slovakia's second-largest city, has adopted a new territorial development plan that permits buildings up to 20 meters tall to be constructed near the Hornád River and in areas with valuable existing architecture. The updated urban planning regulations represent a significant change in the city's approach to development controls in sensitive areas. However, the new plan maintains restrictions on residential construction in garden plot areas, where family houses will continue to be prohibited for the time being.
