Slovakia to Field Significantly Different Team for World Hockey Championships

Share:

Slovakia's national hockey team will compete in the upcoming World Championships with a vastly different roster compared to the squad that reached the Olympic semifinals. Among the defensemen who helped secure that Olympic achievement, only Patrik Koch is expected to participate in the world tournament. The forward lines will be missing several key players including Dalibor Dvorský, Pavol Regenda, Tomáš Tatar, Libor Hudáček, Miloš Kelemen, Matúš Sukeľ, Adam Ružička, Lukáš Cingel, and Peter Cehlárik, with some absences confirmed at least for the tournament's opening phase. The significant roster changes reflect a trend where several players who participated in the Olympics have opted to skip the World Championships, a decision that has proven beneficial for some athletes in previous tournaments.
