Amendment to Košice City Law Opens Space for Discussion and Cooperation

Share:

The Slovak parliament has approved an amendment to the law governing the city of Košice, creating new opportunities for dialogue and cooperation between the city administration, municipal councilors, and district governments. The Košice city administration acknowledged the legislative change and stated that the municipal council has time to respond to the amendment before it takes effect. Košice, Slovakia's second-largest city, operates under a special municipal law that differs from other Slovak cities due to its size and administrative complexity. The city is divided into multiple districts, each with their own local governments, requiring coordination between various levels of municipal administration.
