Artillery Shell Discovered in Forest Near Sečovská Polianka

Police discovered an artillery shell in a forest near Sečovská Polianka, a village in eastern Slovakia's Košice region. A police explosives expert took possession of the ordnance for safe disposal. Such discoveries of unexploded munitions from past conflicts are not uncommon in Slovakia, where remnants from World War II and other military activities occasionally surface in rural areas.
