Košice Undertakes Emergency Repair of Deteriorating Tram Line on Alejová Street

Slovakia's second-largest city, Košice, has launched emergency repairs on a severely deteriorated tram line along Alejová Street after more than a decade of reduced service. Trams on this route have been forced to operate at just 15 kilometers per hour for over ten years, far below the normal maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour, due to the alarming condition of the tracks. The emergency repair work represents an attempt to address the long-standing infrastructure problems that have plagued the city's public transportation system, which serves as a crucial link for residents in Slovakia's eastern regional center.
