World Heritage Day Focuses on Living Heritage Campaign

Slovakia joins the global observance of World Monuments and Historic Sites Day, which features this year's campaign on living heritage. The international day of recognition was established on April 18, 1982, following a proposal at a symposium of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the global organization responsible for promoting heritage conservation. The annual observance aims to raise awareness about cultural heritage preservation and the importance of historic monuments and sites worldwide.
