Prešov Adopts Mosaic Mowing Pattern to Cool Urban Temperatures

The eastern Slovak city of Prešov is changing its green space maintenance approach by implementing a mosaic mowing pattern that will leave some grass areas uncut for longer periods. The new strategy aims to help cool the city during increasingly warm summer months by allowing taller vegetation to provide natural temperature regulation. The mosaic approach involves cutting only portions of green areas at different times rather than uniformly mowing entire spaces, creating a patchwork of varying grass heights that can better absorb heat and provide cooling effects.
