Bosnian-Turkish businessman announces candidacy for Košice regional governor in 2026 elections

Džemal Kodrazi, a Bosnian-Turkish businessman and motivational speaker, has announced his candidacy for governor of the Košice Self-Governing Region in the upcoming 2026 regional elections. This marks his second attempt at the position after running in the previous regional elections four years ago. In his 2022 campaign, Kodrazi finished in eleventh place out of twelve candidates, securing only a small fraction of the vote. Regional governors in Slovakia oversee self-governing regions that manage local healthcare, education, and infrastructure, with the Košice region covering much of eastern Slovakia including the country's second-largest city.
