Drunk Drivers Face Criminal Charges After Crashes and Hit-and-Run Incidents in Eastern Slovakia
Share:
Several intoxicated drivers in eastern Slovakia have been criminally charged and imprisoned following traffic accidents and hit-and-run incidents. The drivers recorded blood alcohol levels ranging from 1.9 to 2.8 promille, well above Slovakia's legal driving limit of 0.5 promille. All suspects involved in the incidents have been formally charged with criminal offenses and taken into custody. The cases highlight ongoing concerns about drunk driving enforcement in the region, where such extreme levels of intoxication behind the wheel can result in serious criminal penalties including imprisonment.
