Truck Fire Closes Major Highway D2 Near Bratislava

A truck fire has forced the complete closure of highway D2 near Veľké Leváre, blocking a major transportation route northwest of Bratislava. The incident involved a truck carrying cars that caught fire, prompting authorities to shut down traffic on the highway section approaching Malacky. Drivers are being diverted through an alternate route that passes through the villages of Moravský Svätý Ján, Veľké Leváre, and Malacky, significantly extending travel times for those heading toward the Austrian border or between Bratislava and other parts of western Slovakia.
