Highway Authority Abandons Soroška Tunnel Plans, Will Only Widen Road and Repair Retaining Wall

Slovakia's highway construction authority has abandoned plans for a tunnel at Soroška, shifting to a more modest approach of road widening and retaining wall repairs. The authority has commissioned project documentation for the scaled-back infrastructure improvements. The tunnel project, which had previously been considered a priority for addressing traffic issues in the area, has been downgraded as officials opt for less expensive alternatives to improve the problematic stretch of road.
