Slovak Public Television Airs Debate on Same-Sex Marriage Following MP's Wedding

Share:

Slovak Public Television (STVR) hosted a discussion program featuring a Catholic priest, human rights activist, and a Member of the European Parliament from Smer-SD to debate same-sex marriage issues. The debate was prompted by the recent wedding of a Progressive Slovakia (PS) member of parliament. The program brought together representatives with differing viewpoints to discuss marriage equality in Slovakia, where same-sex marriage remains a contentious political and social issue. Progressive Slovakia is a liberal opposition party, while Smer-SD is the ruling social-democratic party that has traditionally taken conservative positions on LGBTI+ rights.
