Major road repairs begin on highway connecting Košice to Rožňava

Construction crews will begin major repairs to the I/16 first-class road between Košice and the Pereš district on Thursday, with work expected to last approximately one month. The project will involve complete reconstruction of the left driving lane and shoulder on the route toward Rožňava, Slovakia's National Highway Company announced. Traffic will be managed in phases, with vehicles directed to whichever lane is not under active construction at any given time. The I/16 serves as an important regional connection between Slovakia's second-largest city and southeastern towns.
