Study Finds Female Politicians in Slovakia Face Gender-Based Violence

Share:

A new research study has found that female politicians in Slovakia face gender-based violence, with 27 of the country's 33 female members of parliament participating in the research. Women in politics most frequently encounter attacks related to their appearance, values, competencies, gender, age, and personal or sexual lives. The findings highlight the challenges faced by women seeking to participate in Slovakia's political system, where the National Council has only 33 female representatives out of 150 total seats, reflecting broader issues of gender representation in the country's governance.
