52 Aftershocks Recorded Following Earthquake Near Šamorín, Scientists Complete Initial Analysis

Scientists have completed their preliminary analysis of seismic activity following an earthquake near Šamorín, a town in southwestern Slovakia close to the Austrian and Hungarian borders. The analysis recorded 52 aftershocks following the initial earthquake. During their investigation, researchers also relocated the epicenter of the original earthquake, adjusting their understanding of where the seismic event occurred. The completion of this preliminary analysis represents the first comprehensive assessment of the earthquake sequence that affected the region.
