Marjane Satrapi, Author of Comic and Film 'Persepolis,' Dies

Marjane Satrapi, the acclaimed Iranian-French author and filmmaker best known for her autobiographical graphic novel and animated film "Persepolis," has died. Satrapi was a prominent critic of the Iranian government and used her artistic works to chronicle her experiences growing up during the Islamic Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War. Her graphic memoir "Persepolis," which depicted her childhood in Iran and later exile in Europe, became an international bestseller and was adapted into an Academy Award-nominated animated film in 2007.
