Culture Minister Martina Šimkovičová and Parliamentary Vice-Chairman Tibor Taraba paid tribute to the legacy of the Štúr generation at Devín Castle, commemorating a significant historical event from 1836. The ceremony honored the 19th-century Slovak national revival movement led by Ľudovít Štúr and his followers, who played a crucial role in developing Slovak national consciousness and the standardization of the Slovak language. Devín Castle, located at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers near Bratislava, has long served as a symbol of Slovak national identity and was a gathering place for Slovak intellectuals during the national awakening period.
