Banská Bystrica Warns of Possible Temporary Water Contamination

Share:

Authorities in Banská Bystrica have warned residents that tap water may become temporarily cloudy in the coming days due to construction work in the area. The work is expected to result in an estimated 20 to 30 kilograms of bentonite mixture leaking into the Hron River, which could affect the city's water supply. Banská Bystrica, located in central Slovakia, is the country's sixth-largest city and serves as the administrative center of the Banská Bystrica Region. Bentonite is a type of clay commonly used in construction and drilling operations.
