
Driver charged after hitting pedestrian in Stropkov with nearly three times legal alcohol limit

Police have charged a driver who struck a pedestrian in the eastern Slovak town of Stropkov while severely intoxicated. The driver recorded a blood alcohol level of nearly three promille, which is nearly three times Slovakia's legal driving limit of 0.0 promille. Prosecutors are pursuing criminal charges against the driver for two separate offenses related to the incident. Stropkov is located in the Prešov region near Slovakia's border with Poland and Ukraine.
