Fire at livestock barn in eastern Slovakia causes €120,000 in damages

A fire at an agricultural building in Chrásť nad Hornádom destroyed a barn housing livestock and farm equipment, causing damages estimated at €120,000. Firefighters from Spišská Nová Ves and Krompachy, working alongside volunteer fire brigades, battled the blaze from 1:30 AM and required breathing apparatus for direct intervention due to smoke conditions. The fire engulfed the farm building located in the compound of a former agricultural cooperative in the Spiš region of eastern Slovakia. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
