Czech Mountaineer Dies During Descent from Makalu II in Himalayas

Czech mountaineer David Roubínek died during a descent from approximately 7,200 meters on Makalu II in the Himalayas. His team attempted a rescue operation, but Roubínek died after descending about 200 vertical meters from Camp C3. Makalu II is part of the Makalu massif, which includes the world's fifth-highest peak at 8,485 meters, located on the border between Nepal and Tibet.
