Ukraine's parliament has ratified a groundbreaking 90 billion euro loan agreement with the European Union by constitutional majority. The massive financial aid package, scheduled for disbursement between 2026 and 2027, aims to stabilize Ukraine's economy and significantly strengthen the country's defense industry. Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko announced that Kyiv will receive the first 28.3 billion euros this year, earmarked exclusively for weapons procurement. The European Union formally approved the loan on April 23, following initial approval by EU leaders at a European Council meeting in December.
