The city of Košice has launched the second phase of construction for its network of semi-underground waste containers, designed to reduce unpleasant odors and rodent infestations in residential areas. The expansion represents part of the eastern Slovak city's ongoing modernization of waste management infrastructure. Semi-underground containers offer improved sanitation by containing waste more effectively than traditional surface containers, while also providing a more aesthetically pleasing urban environment. The project demonstrates Košice's continued investment in municipal services as Slovakia's second-largest city works to enhance living conditions for its residents.
