Real Madrid was eliminated from the Champions League after midfielder Eduardo Camavinga received two yellow cards in quick succession during the second half of their match. The French player, who entered the game as a substitute, first received a booking for a tactical foul pulling back an opponent during a counterattack. Eight minutes later, he fouled Harry Kane and instead of retreating from the situation, deliberately handled the ball, earning his second yellow card and ejection. At the time of his dismissal, Real Madrid led 3-2, a scoreline that would have sent the match to extra time, but the team ultimately could not maintain their advantage while playing with ten men.
