Košice's public transport company announced plans to install more than 1,000 new card readers across its fleet of buses and trams. The municipal transport authority launched a public procurement process in the fall to secure the electronic ticketing equipment. The upgrade represents a significant modernization of the fare collection system in Slovakia's second-largest city, which operates an extensive network of bus routes and one of the country's few remaining tram systems.
