Rock Blasting Required in High Tatras Trail Area After Landslide

Additional controlled rock blasting will be necessary in the Hrebienok-Studené valleys area of Slovakia's High Tatras mountains. The work is part of ongoing repairs to a hiking trail from Hrebienok toward Rainerova hut, which has been closed for more than two and a half years due to dangerous slope instability. The trail closure has affected access to one of the popular mountain destinations in the Tatras, Slovakia's premier mountain range and a major tourist attraction located along the border with Poland.
