Slovakia launches tender for cleanup of toxic waste pits in Predajná

Slovakia's Ministry of Environment has launched a tender for the elimination of tar pits containing toxic waste in the village of Predajná. The contaminated sites were created during the 1960s and 1970s when toxic substances from production at the Petrochema Dubová chemical plant were stored in the area. The cleanup operation represents part of ongoing efforts to address decades-old environmental contamination from Slovakia's communist-era industrial activities.
