Nearly Half of Slovak Adults Show Low Media Literacy Levels in New Survey

Nearly half of Slovakia's adult population demonstrates low levels of media literacy, according to a new survey. The research found that 48 percent of the population can be considered to have medium-level media literacy skills. The findings highlight challenges in Slovakia's information environment, where citizens' ability to critically evaluate news sources, identify misinformation, and understand media bias appears limited. Media literacy has become an increasingly important issue across Central Europe, particularly amid concerns about disinformation campaigns and the spread of false information on social media platforms.
