Carolina Hurricanes Break 19-Year Conference Final Drought with Victory Over Florida

Share:

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Florida Panthers 3-0 in their conference final matchup, securing their first conference final victory since June 1, 2006. The win allowed Carolina to avoid elimination and extend their playoff series by at least one game. The last time the Hurricanes won a conference final game was nearly two decades ago, when their current head coach Rod Brind'Amour was still playing as the team's captain. Between these two victories, Carolina had played 15 conference final games without a win, highlighting the significance of breaking this lengthy drought in one of hockey's most challenging playoff rounds.
