Le Mans FC has secured promotion to France's top football division, Ligue 1, marking the club's return to the elite level after a 16-year absence. The French football club is currently owned by Brazilian investment fund OutField. Le Mans last competed in Ligue 1 during the 2007-08 season before being relegated and spending more than a decade in lower divisions.
