The municipal heating company Tepelné hospodárstvo Košice (TEHO) suspended central heating supplies on Monday morning, temporarily ending a heating season that lasted 221 days. The company had begun gradually ramping up heating deliveries to households, schools, businesses and other customers just after midnight on September 26, 2024. TEHO decided to interrupt the heating supply at 8:00 AM on Monday due to weather forecasts indicating warmer temperatures ahead. The decision affects the central heating system that serves residential buildings, educational institutions, and commercial establishments throughout Slovakia's second-largest city.
