Railway Company to Open Košice Depot to Public for Train Festival in 2026

Slovakia's state railway company ZSSK will open its Košice locomotive depot to the public for a special train festival called Rušňoparáda on May 23-24, 2026. The two-day event will showcase historic steam locomotives, legendary trains, and modern rolling stock at the depot located on Pri bitúnku Street. The festival will give visitors rare access to see railway operations and equipment typically closed to the public. ZSSK, which operates Slovakia's passenger rail services, is organizing the event to display the full spectrum of the country's railway heritage alongside contemporary trains.
