Slovak tennis player Rebecca Šramková was eliminated in the first round of qualifying at the Madrid tournament, losing to Switzerland's Rebeka Masárová 3-6, 5-7. Šramková, seeded 23rd in the qualifying draw, was unable to advance past the opening elimination round despite her seeded status.
