Prešov Launches Public Voting on Participatory Budget Projects

Share:

The city of Prešov has opened public voting for its participatory budget initiative, with eight proposals advancing to the final selection round. The participatory budget allows residents to directly vote on how a portion of the city's budget should be spent on community projects. Prešov, Slovakia's third-largest city and the administrative center of the Prešov Region in eastern Slovakia, is using this democratic mechanism to engage citizens in local spending decisions. The voting process represents a form of direct democracy where residents can influence municipal priorities and allocate public funds to projects they consider most beneficial for their community.
