Slovak PM Fico meets EU enlargement commissioner, backs Balkan accession

During the talks at the government office, Fico criticized the EU leadership's approach toward Serbia as unfair, advocating for the country's integration into the bloc. The discussion also covered maintaining veto rights in EU policies defined by treaties, including the Common Foreign and Security Policy. The meeting comes as Slovakia, under Fico's Smer-SD party which returned to power last year, has taken increasingly critical stances toward certain EU policies while maintaining support for enlargement in the Balkans.
