Slovak scientist debunks alternative medicine claims in new podcast
Share:
Slovak researcher and physician Peter Celec has challenged the scientific validity of traditional Chinese medicine and alternative health practices in a new podcast episode. Celec argued that detoxification treatments, alkaline diets, and various miracle cures are based on marketing rather than scientific evidence, with no studies proving their claimed effectiveness. He cited acupuncture as an example, explaining that patients reported similar pain relief whether treated by professional acupuncturists or complete amateurs, suggesting the benefits are purely placebo effects. The interview was published as part of the TELO podcast series by Slovak news outlet Aktuality.sk, available to subscribers of their premium service Aktuality Navyše.
