Environmental assessor paid by investor overlooked glacial lake and protected species at new Jasná ski slope

A new ski slope at the Jasná resort passed an environmental impact assessment despite the evaluator failing to identify a glacial lake and protected species in the area. The environmental assessment was commissioned and paid for by the resort's investor. Information about the glacial lake was also absent from statements provided by the national park authority. The oversight raises questions about the thoroughness of environmental reviews for ski resort developments in Slovakia's mountainous regions.
