NHL Player Dylan Coghlan Scores First Goal in Over Four Years After Farm Team Stint

Dylan Coghlan scored his first NHL regular season goal in 1,615 days, ending a drought that stretched back to December 17, 2021, when he played for the Vegas Golden Knights. The defenseman had played only 24 regular season games combined for Carolina and Winnipeg since that goal, with no playoff appearances. Despite returning to Vegas before this season, Coghlan did not have an automatic roster spot and spent much of the current campaign in the American Hockey League with the team's affiliate. His goal came as a surprise contribution from what coach John Tortorella has used as a strategic wildcard player, highlighting the unpredictable nature of NHL roster management and player development paths.
