Scientists Discover New Deep-Sea Octopus Species Near Galápagos Islands

Scientists have discovered a previously unknown species of deep-sea octopus on the ocean floor near the Galápagos Islands using a submersible vessel. The newly identified octopus is ocean-blue in color and no larger than a golf ball. What distinguishes this species from most other octopuses is its tentacles, which feature only a single row of suction cups rather than the typical multiple rows found on other octopus species.
