Towns in Trnava Region Prepare to Erect Traditional May Poles

Municipalities across the Trnava region are preparing to celebrate the traditional raising of May poles as part of seasonal spring festivities. In the regional capital of Trnava, a May pole will be erected on Wednesday, April 30th at Trinity Square, where visitors will be invited to participate in decorating the pole. The tradition of raising decorated May poles is a widespread Central European custom marking the arrival of spring and is celebrated annually in Slovak communities.
