Russian ice hockey officials have expressed interest in organizing matches with Slovakia and Hungary in Moscow, according to statements made by Roman Rotenberg, a prominent figure who serves as vice-president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and coach of Russia's under-25 national team. Rotenberg told Russian media that discussions were underway with both Slovak and Hungarian hockey federations, citing political alignment between these countries as one reason for the proposed cooperation. However, the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation has categorically denied any ongoing negotiations, stating in a response to Denník N that no talks are taking place regarding potential matches with Russia.
