D1 Highway from Bratislava to Trnava to Reopen Within Hours

Share:

The D1 highway connecting Bratislava to Trnava will reopen to traffic within hours, according to Slovakia's transport minister and the director of the National Highway Company (NDS). Construction crews have been working intensively to complete repairs on the affected section, with the contractor deploying more than 100 workers and 60 construction machines over the past 40 hours to restore the route. The D1 is Slovakia's primary east-west highway corridor, connecting the capital Bratislava with major cities including Trnava, Trenčín, and Žilina. The Bratislava-Trnava section serves as a crucial link for commuters and commercial traffic between the capital region and western Slovakia, making its closure a significant disruption to daily transportation patterns.
