Slovak Film 'The Father' Wins Top Award at National Film Awards

Director Tereza Nvotová's film 'The Father' (Otec) was named the best Slovak film of 2025 at the Slnko v sieti (Sun in a Net) awards, Slovakia's national film honors. The ceremony, which recognizes outstanding achievements in Slovak cinema, was held to celebrate the country's film industry and artistic accomplishments. The Sun in a Net awards are Slovakia's equivalent to the Academy Awards, named after a classic 1962 Slovak film that helped establish the country's new wave cinema movement.
