Tatra Mountain Rack Railway to Suspend Service for Several Days
Share:
The Tatra Electric Railway, Slovakia's historic rack railway system that connects towns in the High Tatra mountains, will temporarily suspend operations for several days. Bus services will replace train connections during the closure period. The railway, known locally as the 'zubačka' for its distinctive cog-wheel system that allows trains to climb steep mountain grades, serves as a crucial transport link for tourists and residents in the popular mountain resort region along Slovakia's border with Poland.
