Slovak Author Peter Balko Presents French Translation of His Novel at Brussels Book Fair

Slovak writer and screenwriter Peter Balko participated in the prestigious Brussels Book Fair (Foire du livre de Bruxelles) on March 27, 2026, to present the French translation of his novel "Ostrov" (Island). The book, originally published in 2019 by KK Bagala publishing house, appears in French as "L'Île Ø" through Paris-based publisher Editions Bleu et jaune. Balko's presentation took place on the Creative Europe stage in a unique format featuring dialogue between the author and his publisher. The event highlights growing international interest in contemporary Slovak prose literature, with Balko known for his work as both a novelist and an award-winning screenwriter.
