Slafkovsky Returns to Top Line as Jagr Sees Similarities to His Younger Self
Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky was promoted back to the team's first line by coach Martin St. Louis after struggling in his first three games following his return from the World Junior Championship in Milan. The move came as St. Louis recognized both Slafkovsky and the team needed revitalization. The promotion marks the first time since November that the young Slovak forward has played on Montreal's top line. Earlier, during the Olympics, NHL legend Jaromir Jagr had praised Slafkovsky's play, noting similarities to his own style when he was young. Slafkovsky, who was selected first overall by Montreal in the 2022 NHL Draft, is considered one of Slovakia's most promising hockey prospects and has been working to establish himself as a key player for the Canadiens.
