Good Friday was traditionally observed as the strictest fasting day of the year in Slovak culture, accompanied by various agricultural customs and magical practices. Ľudmila Mitrová, an ethnographer at the East Slovak Museum in Košice, explained that ancestors combined religious observance with numerous folk beliefs and superstitions on this holy day.
