Košice Launches New Tender for Geothermal Heating Pipeline

Share:

MH Teplárenský holding has launched a new public tender for the construction of a 16-kilometer heating pipeline that will connect geothermal wells near the village of Ďurkov with Košice's central heating plant. The contract has an estimated value of 67.7 million euros, with work scheduled to be completed by the end of summer. The pipeline is part of a broader project to heat Slovakia's second-largest city using geothermal energy. Košice, located in eastern Slovakia, is moving toward renewable energy sources for its district heating system, which would reduce reliance on conventional fuels and lower heating costs for residents.
